Opernlofts – purchase in Berlin Mitte
The Optima Aegidius Group from Munich succeeded in purchasing another site from Liegenschaftsfonds Berlin in Berlin Mitte.
The former costume and scenery workshops of the Berlin Opera are located on Zehdenicker Strasse, near the Weinbergpark. The industrial landmark from the turn of the century is to be carefully renovated.
Around 50 loft apartments are planned with a gross floor area of 6,000 m2, under the title "Opernlofts Mitte". In addition to traditional lofts with spacious rooms, a penthouse is also planned with a fantastic view over the whole capital.
The architectural practice of Ingo Pott, who took part in the reconstruction of the Reichstag building, under the leadership of Sir Norman Potts, and is a co-founder of the c/o Berlin photography museum, is responsible for the architecture.
"The challenging listed building has found a purchaser in the form of an experienced Munich-based property development company, which will transform it into a real show-piece. Thus, Liegenschaftsfonds was able to make the sale on behalf of the Opera Foundation a success for all three parties," says Holger Lippmann, Managing Director of Liegenschaftsfonds Berlin.
The project will be financed by the UniCredit/HVB Bank.
The sale was brokered by CB Richard Ellis Berlin.
